Create a Google Business Post On a PC
This section will look at creating a Google Business post in a Google Business Profile on a PC.
Step 1: Access Your Google Business Listing
You must first access your Google Business Profile to create a Google Business post.
You can do this in two ways:
- Log in at https://business.google.com/locations, and click on your business.
- Google your business name in a browser while logged in to your Google account.

With both methods, you will land on the management area seen directly on a Google search results page:
Step 2: Create a Google Business Post
Once you’ve accessed your Google Business listing management area, follow these steps to create a Google Business post.
Click on the “Add Update” button, as shown in the PC browser screenshot below.

Next, you will click on the “Add Update” option:
You’ll see a pop-up, as shown in the screenshot below.
Type in words for your post in the section marked by the green arrow.
Add a relevant picture (or a few) to your post using the area marked by the yellow arrow.
If you want to add a call-to-action button, click on the button marked with the purple arrow.
You’ll see many options for CTA buttons. These three options for the call-to-action button are the most common: Book, Learn More and Call Now.
- The “Book” option is where you can put a link back to your website to book on a booking page.
- The “Learn More” option is the same, where you would paste a link back to your site to whatever page makes sense for the post.
- The “Call Now” option will automatically insert your business phone number.
Aside from Call now, you’ll need to get the appropriate link from your website to use any of the options.
Go to your site, go to the page you want the button to link to, and grab (copy) the link from the nav bar- as shown in the screenshot below.
Paste the link in the appropriate section marked “Link for your button”, as shown in the screenshot below.
If you choose the “Call now” option, this is what it will look like (no settings to make):
Once you’ve filled out all the required fields, click the “Post” button.
The post may be held for review before going live; click “Done”:

Note: Google My Business Mobile App
In 2022, Google announced that the Google My Business mobile app would no longer be available. This is currently the case.
However, there are still ways to manage your Business Profile on the go. Google has recommended using the Google Maps mobile app and Google Search on PC to keep your Business Profile up-to-date and reach your customers where they are.
It’s important to note that there are no changes to how customers view and interact with your Business Profile. You can continue to access your Business Profile data through the Google Maps mobile app and Google Search. Overall, it’s still easy to manage your Google Business listing and engage with potential customers on the go, even without the Google My Business app.
Step 1: Open Your Google Maps App
Open your Google Maps app on your mobile device, tap your profile photo or initial at the top right, and then tap on Your Business Profiles.
Next, you will land on the management area:
Step 2: Create a Google Business Post
You may need to slide the top menu with your finger to find the Updates menu option. Click “Updates”:

Add a relevant picture (or a few) to your post using the “Make your post stand out with a photo” section.
If you want to add a call-to-action button, click on the button marked “None” in the “Add a button (optional)” area.
