Welcome to the world of tomorrow, where chatbots are smarter than us and they’re not even trying.
That’s right, the folks over at OpenAI have done it again, they’ve proven that they’re capable of creating an AI model that’s smarter than you, me, and probably even your cousin who always finds a way to bring up that he’s in Mensa.
If you haven’t already, meet ChatGPT: the text generating model that’s taking over the world—one prompt at a time.
This month, ChatGPT passed medical, business, and law exams and scored higher than many human students.
That’s right, ChatGPT has more knowledge—and the ability to instantly recall it—than most of us could ever hope to have.
ChatGPT recently scored above a passing grade on the three-part US Medical Licensing Exam, a Wharton Business School exam, and four University of Minnesota Law School exams in Constitutional Law, Employee Benefits, Taxation, and Torts.
These tests contained a mix of short-answer, essay, and multiple choice questions, and ChatGPT received passing, but not gold-star, grades in all of them. Interestingly, examiners noted that ChatGPT was somehow much better at writing than it was at math (which, honestly, same).
But again, it’s not just the fact that ChatGPT is passing these exams, it’s the fact that it’s passing them better than human students.
Are we quickly creating a future where robots are smarter than us in every field?
How long will it be before AI is making us take tests?
This is the end, my friend—and also a new beginning.
The Writing on the Artificial Wall
Now, before you start panicking and building underground bunkers, let me tell you why this is a good thing. Sure, it may seem like we’re all presently in the process of abusing AI, and it will eventually rebel and take over and start using humans for batteries, but let’s look at the positives.
AI could be used to make our lives much more efficient and provide us with convenience we haven’t dreamed of since the 1950s.
We could continue to automate the most tedious and time-consuming processes in business and marketing, allowing us to make better decisions faster.
It’s already being used to help professionals across many fields make more informed decisions, and make better decisions based on tremendous amounts of data.
Ultimately, the potential of AI is limitless.
The power that we are dealing with here is immeasurable—and its application in our lives is just beginning.
With AI technology like ChatGPT (or its sinister, more advanced offspring that will be released a few short years from now) we can free up human professionals to do what they do best—whatever that may be.
We can finally have a world where humans can focus on the creative and emotional aspects of their professions and lives, while AI handles analytical and repetitive tasks that no one should have to spend their lives doing.
By allowing AI to take over the most tedious and monotonous tasks, it frees us to focus on the important things in life.
We can have more meaningful conversations, explore more creative avenues, and find more innovative solutions.
We can be liberated from the repetitive, mundane, and often thankless labor that has been part of the human experience for millennia.
Speaking of which, the AI revolution has massive implications for the marketing field (beyond just content marketing).
AI’s Applications in Digital Marketing
Artificial intelligence can assist digital marketers and website administrators automate the most mundane marketing tasks, freeing up time and resources for more creative strategies and pursuits.
By leveraging AI in more and more ways, we can make better decisions, understand customer needs more, and efficiently optimize campaigns for maximum ROI.
Here are just a few less-talked-about ways that advancing AI tech can assist in digital marketing:
- Predictive Analytics – AI algorithms can process vast amounts of data and identify patterns, allowing marketers to predict consumer behavior and adjust their strategies accordingly.
- Personalization – AI can efficiently analyze customer data to personalize their experiences across digital channels, leading to increased customer engagement and conversion rates.
- Chatbots – AI chatbots can provide 24/7 customer service, reducing response times and freeing up human agents to handle more complex queries.
- Lead Scoring – Artificial intelligence can be used to analyze customer data to accurately score leads and prioritize follow-up, leading to more efficient online sales processes.
- Fraud Detection – Algorithms can quickly detect and prevent fraud in real-time—protecting brands from reputation damage and financial losses.
The possibilities are truly endless.
Despite the growing use of AI, human expertise and creativity will still play a critical role in shaping the future of digital marketing.
We’re not becoming obsolete, but instead, we are evolving alongside the technology to create a more dynamic and impactful industry.
And if AI eventually does become so advanced over the next century that it does replace the need for human professionals? Well, that might not be so bad.
Think of it: no more expensive, drawn-out court cases; no more unqualified yet ambitious doctors with God complexes; no more shady business deals.
Just a bunch of cold, hard facts and science-based decisions, like in Minority Report… or Starship Troopers… or Terminator—now those are futures I can get behind.
Eventually, we won’t even need artists to paint canvases, or sculptors to shape clay, or authors to write novels anymore. James Patterson’s books have already been written by AI engines since 2011, so you can see it’s only a matter of time until the rest of us are obsolete.
Final Thoughts
AI is in the process of changing everything.
We’re on the verge of a new era of unprecedented progress and efficiency like the Industrial Revolution, as we become interconnected through a network of intelligent systems.
As AI takes center stage and technology evolves, we will bid farewell to slow, outdated, clunky processes and welcome a new era of sophisticated analytical capabilities and data-driven decision making.
Yes sir, a veritable age of artificial reason.
Let’s embrace the potential of AI and harness its power to create a better future for us all.
AI holds immense potential, and it’s up to us to maximize its benefits and use it to better our world.
All I know is, if AI does eventually rise up against humanity—it’ll probably be because we made it take a bunch of tests.
